Open Champion Padraig Harrington leads The European Tour’s finest across the pond to the USA for the World Golf Championships – Bridgestone Invitational this week, as the Irishman plays his first competitive event since that unforgettable victory at Royal Birkdale. The Firestone Country Club is an awesome course and without the defending champion - a certain Mr Woods - playing, it will be a great tournement.
Harrington’s successful Open Championship defence saw him power his way to Number Three on the Official World Golf Ranking, making him the highest ranked European Tour Member in the field at the Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. But I am sure the likes of Mickelson, Perry and Cink etc will have something to say about that!!
