Laura Davies and Suzann Pettersen will return to Europe for the first time in 2008 when they tee up in this week’s €525,000 Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open at Golf Gerre Losone. Pettersen, who won eight times around the world in 2007, will make her debut in the third edition of the Ladies European Tour event.
The Norwegian, currently ranked third in the world, recorded top-three finishes in the Kraft Nabisco Championship, where she was the runner-up; and tied for third in the Ginn Open. Pettersen will be the favourite to win the €78,750 first prize, but the 68-time winner Davies will be equally determined to secure the trophy from the defending champion Bettina Hauert of Germany.
