In 2007 Angel Cabrera held off the Nos. 1 and 3 players in the world, Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk, on Sunday to win the 107th U.S. Open at Oakmont.
For only second time in history the United States Golf Association will stage its national championship on a public golf course when the 2008 U.S. Open is conducted at Torrey Pines' South Course outside San Diego.
Now that the wheels have come off the Tiger Woods 'grandslam train', The US Open can focus on what it is - a typically brutal test of golf!!
