US PGA Championship

Oakland_hills_cc The last major of the year heads to the great course, Oakland Hills Country Club in Michigan. As with The Open, all the talk is of a major without Tiger, but he wasn't missed at The Open was he?
With the Ryder Cup looming this could be the last chance for some of the players to stake their last claim for the coveted place.

Womens British Open

Lorenaochoa The Old Course at Sunningdale, sees the cream of ladies golf challenge for the Womens British Open this week. With all the big guns - Ocha, Creamer and Sorenstam  - heading to the UK, it should be a great weekend of ladies golf.
Last years winner - Lorena Ochoa - will be looking to add another Major to her growing list of titles, but last time winner at Sunningdale  - UK's Karen Stupples, will be looking to continue her good form this year after returning to the tour, after the birth of her child.

World Golf Championships - The Bridgestone Invitational

Bridgestone_firestone Open Champion Padraig Harrington leads The European Tour’s finest across the pond to the USA for the World Golf Championships – Bridgestone Invitational this week, as the Irishman plays his first competitive event since that unforgettable victory at Royal Birkdale. The Firestone Country Club is an awesome course and without the defending champion - a certain Mr Woods - playing, it will be a great tournement.

Harrington’s successful Open Championship defence saw him power his way to Number Three on the Official World Golf Ranking, making him the highest ranked European Tour Member in the field at the Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. But I am sure the likes of Mickelson, Perry and Cink etc will have something to say about that!!

US Senior Open Championship - Champions Tour

Norman The Senior Open Championship goes across the pond the week to The Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Last weeks Senior British Open saw a tight finish with Bruce Vaughan winning in a play off. But does Greg Norman deserve the title of favourite this week  or will it be the defending champion Brad Bryant who picks up the trophy?

The Russian Open - European Tour

Johansson Per-Ulrik Johansson returns to the stunning Le Meridien Moscow Country Club this week to defend his Inteco Russian Open Golf Championship title against an impressive field that includes two-time Major Champion John Daly.
Twelve months ago the Inteco Russian Open Golf Championship resurrected the career of Johansson when the Swede won his first title in a decade, securing a six stroke victory on the outskirts of the Russia’s capital city. Johansson took a firm grip on the tournament with a superb second round 62 and never looked back as he claimed the sixth title of his career.

The Canadian Open - US PGA Tour

Jimfuryk The Jack Nicklaus designed Glen Abbey GC in Oakville, Ontario, Canada is hosting the RBC Canadian Open for the first time since 2004. Jim Furyk is the defending champion, but after been blown away by the wind last week at The Open, will he have anything left to defend his title and make it a hat trick of wins in Canada?

The Senior Open Championship - Champions Tour

Tom_watson Tom Watson goes to Royal Troon, Scotland as the defending champion. Personally I hope he wins, as I am a big Tom Watson fan, but will Greg Norman be able to sustain the form he showed in The Open last week?

The Open Championship - Royal Birkdale - European Tour

Padraigharrington_2 Royal Birkdale this year hosts the 139 Open Championship, with the defending champion, Padraig Harrington looking to defend his title on the famous links. Last week he warmed up for the defence of his Open Championship title by winning the Irish PGA Championship by four shots.
But with the field without Tiger Woods for the first time for many years at an Open Championship, the betting this year is really wide open!!

The Open Championship - Top UK & Irish Player - European Tour

Ukmap1 This is the week of the 137th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. As the pinnacle of World Golf (of course I am biased!), this week really does capture the imagination of the true golfing public. As always with this Championship, the press really do hype every single UK and Irish player.
Of course last year they got it right with Padraig Harrington winning the Open. But can another repeat that feat this year? Could it be Poulter or Rose or even last weeks winner McDowell?

The Barclays Scottish Open - European Tour

Loch_lomond Loch Lomond in Scotland is this weeks venue for the European Tour, and what a venue it is! With The Open just round the corner, the big guns arrive for this great tournament. A truly exceptional international field has assembled in the west of Scotland, led by three of the top six players from the current Official World Golf Ranking; Number Two Phil Mickelson, Number Three Adam Scott and Number Six Ernie Els.
Grégory Havret will be seeking to defend his title he won so well last year.
